The book that nearly destroyed my spirit

And the headmaster who led to the disaster

Hi everyone. I’ve written a short story on Vocal, for their Writers Challenge, where we’re asked to write a about the first story we ever wrote, and the emotions and experiences that evoked … even though this isn’t for a memoir, I feel it has a place in there when I get around to putting it together for a book.

You can find my entry below. Vocal estimates this as a 6-minute read, but something tells me you’ll whiz through this! πŸ˜‰

  1. What a heartfelt story about your inspired book and the “Headmaster” who nearly destroyed your spirit. I’m glad he ultimately failed, and that you successfully followed your dream. A wonderful read, Harmony, as are all your books and stories.

    • Thanks so very much, Diana! Your kind words and support are appreciated deeply πŸ€—πŸ’•πŸ™‚

  2. So many things in your younger years we shared in common, like, family mediators, no encouragement, dysfunction, and I wrote at and since a young age; only I never let anyone know. I also never tried to publish anything until was in my 40s. Well done Harmony. Btw, I’m sorry, but this mercury retrograde has been haunting me with technology – particularly WordPress. I couldn’t even heart your story this time. It asked me to sign in, I did, and wouldn’t allow me to do anything. πŸ™ xx

    • WordPress is locking out just about everyone on most sites lately. No clue what β€˜improvements’?!?! they’re making πŸ˜‚ Thanks so much, Debby. I’m so sorry we’re so similar in that way, but it’s nice having a sister in arms. Love and hugs πŸ€—πŸ’•πŸ™‚
