About the Album

Some songs heal. Some songs hold you. Some songs carry us.

A Country Album of Love, Strength, and Song

Saddle Up and Sing is more than a collection of country songs. This album takes the listener on a journey through pain, hope, love, resilience, and the quiet strength it takes to simply keep going.

These songs are born from real-life struggles and emotions—from times when getting through the day is an achievement, through nights when the world feels impossibly heavy, and from the love that can sometimes be the one thing that helps us find our way through the darkness.

From Still Here, Beacon in the Dark, and Still Us, to Painful Beautiful Love, Long Days-Longer Nights, Borrow Mine, Side by Side, and Lean on Me, the album tells a story of resilience and love that doesn’t pretend life is perfect.

It isn’t about fixing everything. It’s about staying. About choosing each other. And about taking one day, one breath, one step at a time.

[It’s my hope to be able to add CD options soon. I had signed up with one company only to find they would charge almost $19 to ship to the UK and Europe–obviously not a tenable option. So I’m looking right now. Also, anyone who buys one album will receive a never-expiring discount code for my other albums.]

Hi everyone. It’s so lovely to be back online, even if limited. I’m checking on everyone’s blogs who visit here to reciprocate, and it’s my hope to be more active, eventually, in visiting all the blogs I used to.

Unfortunately, I’ve just had to up my Fentanyl dose, and other meds, which I hope won’t be for too long a period. But the reality is I have many diseases going on at once, and now I’m losing my voice too. I’ve always loved to sing, and grew up both listing to and singing along with Country music. This is the natural rhythm by voice goes to. Before becoming so unwell, I used to sing in a local choir in the Soprano and alto ranges and could do both harmony and melody. Now I’m no longer up to writing a novel, I’ve turned my affinity for poetry into songwriting and even singing! My singing voice has always been vastly different to my speaking voice, and now it’s obvious that my vocal chords will, eventually, stop working altogether, I’ve taken the plunge and, with lots of help, have published on pre-order my first album 🤩.

My artist biography says it all, so here it is … 🥁🥁🥁

Country songs of heart, resilience, love, & finding your way home.

I didn’t set out to become a songwriter.

For years, I tried to make sense of life—the good, the bad, & the moments that changed me.
Then I found I could put it all into music.

My words are rooted in country because it’s where I can show that the simplest stories carry the biggest truths.

Thank you for listening.

Harmony K ❤️

The album releases on October 2nd, and anyone who pre-orders will receive a track to stream/download immediately. I’ve also put together a booklet with the lyrics and the story behind each song. And this comes with each purchase.

Eventually, I’ll put my albums on Spotify and Apple Music too. I want to start small for now.

This release feels even worse than a book launch, lol 🤣. I’m putting myself and my voice out there in a way I never have before. Thank goodness for good and talented friends who have supported me on this new journey.

I’m so grateful to Paul B and his musical talent with digital studio work. My brain struggles to take on new information these days, and he has, honestly, been a life-saver on this one. Not being able to reach a physical studio, his skill with digital mixing and editing has helped immensely. And together, we broke each song into sections I could manage before the croaky voice and pain became too much. Then we put the separate segments together. I have so much empathy and respect for Celine Dion for her struggles with Stiff Person Syndrome, and know how much time she’s likely to need to recover after her comeback and upcoming tour.

My excitement right now is overriding the nervousness (my palms are sweating as I’m typing this post! 😉). Already, work is underway for a second album, Through the Fire. I want to get as much out there as possible before my voice goes entirely. At least with current technology, I’m able to record my voice in case I ever want to make other albums when I can no longer sing.

You all know how much AI scares me, so I stay away as much as possible. In this case, though, AI has allowed me to record my voice and capture all the ranges (including some deeper tones due to my new vocal changes, which has proven useful for some of my songs–I always look for a silver lining!). This makes it possible to, perhaps, use my own recorded voice for new songs in the future. I haven’t decided yet if I’ll go that route when the time comes.

Anyway, enough rambling from me! I’d love to know what you think once you’ve had a listen. I can’t express how it feels to not be in touch with so many of you the way I used to be able to. At least now, this gives me a new opportunity for a fresh start. I’ll have to add a new page to this site too, dedicated to my music.

One big ask: I’d be so incredibly grateful for as many shares as possible on your social platforms to help me spread the word, as I’m starting this from scratch. Thank you ☺️

Ending now with much love and gratitude to you all. 😊💖😊
