Hi everyone. Today’s post is long overdue. I’ve been planning to write this for a while, but life got in the way, as it has with writing a few book reviews too. (Oops!) Sally Cronin, whom you’ll find at the Smorgasbord Blog is one of the most supportive authors and bloggers that I’ve met in my writing career. Today, I wanted, in some small way, to repay some of that kindness and generosity. Most, if not all, of you will know Sally and her blog already. However, if I introduce even one new reader to her collection of publications, and/or new bloggers to her awesome website, I consider this a post well done. For certain, Sally has introduced little ole me to some wonderful authors and books. Reads I never would have come across otherwise 🙂

I have to comment here on how the universe conspires for us. Just when I’d scheduled this post for Sally, I saw a post of hers listing all the places she’s been on tour this year! Perfect timing! 🙂 So, now, I can offer you a link to all her past blog tours throughout 2021 in one place instead of just the two I’d found on my little ownsome. Awesome! 🙂

You can find some wonderful posts with Sally on tour in 2021 HERE, which are well worth a look!

And HERE’s a post all about Sally’s wonderful marketing opportunities.

A Bit About Sally in her Own Words:

I have enjoyed a nomadic existence, living in eight countries including Sri Lanka, Malta, South Africa, USA, and Spain, before settling back here in Ireland. My work, and a desire to see some of the most beautiful parts of the world in the last forty years, has taken me to many more incredible destinations around Europe and Canada, and across the oceans to New Zealand and Hawaii. All those experiences, and the people that I have met, provide a rich source of inspiration for my stories.

After a career in customer facing roles in the hospitality, retail, advertising and telecommunications industry, I wrote and published my first book in 1999 called Size Matters, about my weight-loss journey, losing 150 lbs in 18 months. This has been followed by 13 further fiction and non-fiction books, including a number of short story collections.

My first book release resulted in a radio interview in Spain that led to four years as a nutritional consultant

for an English language station, and this was followed by four years with my own health show and Sunday morning show on local radio station in the UK and then as station director, newsreader and presenter for an online television station.

As a writer, I know how important it is to have help in marketing books, and from 2002 I have been working with authors on their book launches and publicity. At that time it was very much physical book launches and press coverage locally to stimulate national interest. Today it is very different with a global market via the worldwide web.

As important as my own promotion is, I believe it is important to support others within our community. I offer a number of FREE promotional opportunities on my blog, linked to my social media. If you are an author who would like to be promoted to a new audience of dedicated readers, please contact me via my blog. All it will cost you is a few minutes of your time. Look forward to hearing from you.

  1. Thanks, Harmony. It’s lovely to see Sally featured here. I know many of us, authors and bloggers, are indebted to her and have been hosted by her many times. She is a talented author and generous to a fault, and it’s great to see her being the star. Big hugs to both of you!

  2. Hi Harmony, thank you for this amazing Sally post. I was extremely fortunate as Sally was one of the first bloggers I found on WP when I started in August 2016. I loved her blog and just copied as much as possible of what Sally did. I am nowhere near as amazing as she is, but what I have managed to achieve with my two blogs is largely a result of following her advice and having her as my role model. Of course, Sally also writes the most amazing fictional books and I have read them all. I am now waiting for her new one.

    • Thanks very much Robbie, that is very kind but you have done an amazing job and put a great deal of hard work in the last five years building two incredible blogs whilst working full time, writing children’s books and novels for us older fans… and with the craziness of the last 15 months. ♥♥

    • You’re so welcome, Robbie. I wish I’d met Sally much sooner, but better late than never! That’s awesome that Sally has helped you so much. 🙂
