#TANKATUESDAY Weekly #POETRYCHALLENGE #283 #TasteTheRainbow #Chakra @ColleenCheseboro
Hi everyone! 🙂
Today, I’ve joined Colleen’s weekly TankaTuesday challenge, which asks for us to create a syllabic poem based on the theme of ‘Taste The Rainbow’ & Chakra colours.
You can find Colleen’s post HERE.
Today, I’ve chosen a Senryu.
Turquoise waves
Tides ride high and low
Pain comes, goes
Turquoise falls between the blue and green spectrums, which seemed perfect for today’s poetry. With blue for the Throat Chakra and Green for the Heart Chakra, and the whole-body/mind effects of constant, excruciating pain, these two energy centres are prominent for me right now. I wanted to portray waves and tides as in sea, as in chakra energy, as in life, as in mood. Interesting that turquoise is one of my favourite colours too. I hope you enjoyed today’s poetry. Have a lovely day! 🙂

Pain is indeed a tricky thing coming in waves.
Hopefully you have some peace in waves too!
Thanks, Jules 💕🙂
Harmony – that last line really makes me stop and think – I wasn’t expecting you to include the word ‘pain’ in this piece! Well done 🙂
Much love,
David
Thanks so much, David! 💕🙂
For such a short poem this is wrenching, Harmony. I’m so sorry that you are in deep pain and I admire your courage to endure and see through it. Turquoise is a beautiful color and I love the meaning it holds for you. <3
Thanks so much, Diana 💕🙂
You connected the two perfectly, Harmony! I hope your waves are malformed so the going is longer than the coming! XO 🙂
Thanks so much, Yvi. And I second your hopes on the malformed waves, lols! 😂 Hugs 💕🙂
Pain does come and go like waves…such a beautiful senryu, Harmony, full of wisdom. ❤️🙂
Thanks so much, Punam 💕🙂
So much expressed in so few words. Lovely imagery, Harmony. Thank you for your constant appreciation. 💞
Thanks so much, Laura! And it’s my pleasure 💕🙂
Perfect colors and description of how pain is constantly moving, Harmony. Turquoise is a favorite of mine too and my throat charkra my hardest one to open up.
It’s a tough chakra for me too. Thanks so much, Denise! 💕🙂
This is very heart rending, Harmony. Hugs.
Thanks, Robbie. Hugs 💕🙂
Great interpretation!! Be well!!
Thanks, Ruth! 💕🙂
Harmony, this was an excellent senryu!! One of my favorite colors is turquoise, and you combined the throat and heart chakras to create the color. I’ve been doing a lot of chakra work lately, having found some YouTube meditations that help me keep my chakras cleansed and working. I’m taking a Reiki class in order to learn more. This is really stunning! 💜
Thanks so much, Colleen! I’m so pleased you love the Senryu. Good luck with the Reiki class! 💕🙂
Wonderful.
Thanks, Molly 💕🙂
Pain is like waves. Well said.
Thanks, Jacqui 💕🙂
You have said so much within three lines Harmony! But that is the beauty of poetry! Well-done!
Thanks so much, Balroop! 💕🙂
Nicely done, Harmony!
Thanks, Joan! 💕🙂
