Major #edit and a new book cover! The Battle for Brisingamen
Hi everyone. I hope you’re having a good week so far. As of Monday, I started to revise the first book I ever wrote: The Battle for Brisingamen. It’s amazing how much I’ve learnt and grown in the last seven years.
The only way I can do the edit without cringing too much is if I pretend it’s someone else’s book, lols!
I’ve also revamped the book cover. This is the current one:
And here’s the revamped one:
I’ll upload this once I’ve uploaded the revision changes too. Iโve reached chapter four, and this process may take a while along with my other projects. But I’m determined!
I’d love to know what you think about the new cover, so don’t be shy and leave a reply in the comments below ๐
Love the new cover! Congrats on revising your first book. I’d probably end up having a nervous breakdown if I did that to mine.
It’s hard work, but I think I’m going to feel so relieved and rewarded once I’m done. So thrilled you love the new cover! Thanks, Joan ๐
The new cover is much darker in tone, Harmony. I like the model, the rich colors. Excellent. I also went back and revisited earlier works. It takes time, but I think it makes a lot of sense. It’s amazing how much we grow in our craft, and we want to put our best foot forward since any of our books can serve as a gateway for our readers. Happy Editing!
So glad you like the new cover. I agree with what you say about any of our books serving as gateways for our readers. Thanks, Diana ๐
Congratulations on having the gumption (I love that word!) to go back and re-edit your first book. If I were even ten years younger, I’d do the same thing, but at this point, I decided to look forward not back, so I can tell a couple more stories before retiring.) Good luck on the work ahead.
Now for the new cover. OMG. What a major difference. The new one is riveting, dramatic, and makes me want to read this book immediately. (Though I think I’ll wait until you’ve finished your revisions. ๐ ) Truly, Harmony, it’s perfect for any tale about Freya. Love it!
You go, girl! ๐ <3
Yay! … I love the word โgumptionโ too! I fully understand you not going back. Itโs taken me all these years to get to it.
So delighted you love the cover ๐. And, yes, definitely wait until Iโve finished the revisions, ha ha ๐ . Thanks, Marcia.
I love the new cover.
That makes me so happy. Thanks, Craig ๐
That’s an awesome new cover, Harmony. Love it!
Wishing you all the best in tackling those edits!
Yay! Thanks so much, Mae ๐
Love the new cover, Harmony. And kudos to you for revising your first novel. I’d hate to even look at mine!
It is quite a daunting undertaking, lols. So happy the new cover is going down so well! Thanks, Staci ๐
The new cover has much more impact and drama than the first, which is pretty, but doesn’t say ‘here’s a book you MUST read.’
Yay. Thanks, Vivienne ๐
What a great cover. It really stands out to me and I think fits the story more.
That’s great. Thanks, Denise ๐
Ooo best of luck with it, Harmony.
Thank you! ๐
I absolutely love the new cover! Fantastic! Have fun with the edits!
Woohoo! Thanks, Gwen ๐
