#TANKATUESDAY Weekly #POETRYCHALLENGE #256 @SyllabicPoetry @ColleenChesebro #SpecificForm #Haiku
Hi everyone! ๐
Today, Iโve joined Colleenโs weekly TankaTuesday challenge, which asks for a Haiku. Iโve used sunshine as my Kigo, as it can appear in any season.
You can find Colleenโs post HERE.
Iโve chosen a Haiku in three lines of 2-3-2 syllables.
sunshine
a foolโs gold?
deep chill
I hope you enjoyed this short verse on how sunshine can fool us into thinking itโs warm when itโs something else, brrr ๐ฅถ ย ๐

Beautiful haiku with so much in it.
Thanks so much, Jude ๐๐
Gorgeous haiku.
Thanks so much! ๐๐
Oh yes. Oooooh yes! Lovely.
Thanks, Selma! ๐๐
So aptly summed up!
Winter chill that always bites!
Yes! Thanks so much ๐๐
The winter sun can be deceptive.
For some reason, my comments on my tablet keep being rejected…hopefully this works!
Sorry you had problems. A lot of comments seem to be hitting problems on both WordPress and Blogger. Thanks so much for keeping on trying! ๐๐
I am so far behind this week, I’m just now reading your poem. Sunshine can be deceptive! Here’s looking to warmer weather.
I second that!
Yep, we can have some very sunny, very cold days in winter. Nicely done.
Thank you, D! ๐๐
Harmony, this is an excellent haiku. There is a wonderful element of surprise here with sunshine, fool’s gold, and deep chill! I love the way this came together! <3
Fantastic! Thanks so much, Colleen ๐๐
That’s superb, Harmony!
It speaks perfectly to the weather I’ve been having for the last several days. Brilliant!
Yay! Thanks, Mae ๐๐
Like this, Harmony ๐ Yes, had many days like this!
Thanks, Denise ๐๐
You’re so good at this, Harmony. Just perfect wording. Love. Thanks.
Aww, Selma, that is so sweet of you to say. Thank you! ๐๐
Great poem, Harmony! That sunshine has tricked me a few times. We don’t get many cold days in South Florida, but when we do, that sun is always shining and playing innocent. Lol! ๐
Yep, it loves playing innocent, lols ๐ Thanks, Yvi ๐๐
Super poem, Harmony.
Thanks, John! ๐๐
Wow, Harmony, your poem is stunning. You’ve captured the season in just a couple of well-chosen words. Beautiful!
Yay! Thanks so much, Gwen ๐๐
This is so true, Harmony. In South Africa, the sun usually shines, but some days have a bitter wind in the winter and it is very cold.
That windchill can be COLD! Thanks, Robbie ๐๐
Ah, it can seem that way around these parts! I’ll take the sunshine even on the coldest of days. ๐
Ditto! Thanks, Annette ๐๐
When the snow is still on the ground… Even with the sun out – I check the outdoor thermostat reading. This morning at 7:30am it was 17F / -8 C. It’s warmed up at 9a to 21F/
-6C.
Hope youโre keeping warm, Jules! ๐๐
I love the twist in this one, Harmony. Sunshine doesn’t always mean warmth. I won’t mind a little though. Lol <3
Itโs our first sunny day in quite some time, lols. Now all I want is a little heat to go with it! Glad you enjoyed it, Diana ๐๐
A beautiful Haiku, I know exactly what you talking about ๐๐
Thanks so much, Willow ๐๐
Lovely, Harmony! You nailed this perfectly. Thanks for sharing!
Yay! Thanks, Jan ๐๐
Nothing like bright sun on a snowy day… to blind you. Great take on the prompt, Harmony. Stay warm!
Lols! For sure. Thanks, Staci ๐๐
Nice haiku, Harmony! Yeah, those sunny winter days are frigid!
Brrr! ๐ฅถ Thanks, Priscilla ๐๐
