Slices of Soul Kindle Cover

Slices of Soul: My latest book, but my first-ever book of poetry!

Slices of Soul is a collection of contemporary poetry from author Harmony Kent that will both delight and call for deeper reflection. ‘Phantoms’ gives a gritty account of pain that you can never catch. ‘Enough’ expresses the contentment of Zen. ‘Diamonds’ shows the beauty to be found on a drab and rainy day. While ‘The Alchemist’ shows you how a guitar can turn lead into gold. This wonderful arrangement of fifty poems takes you from the abstract of Zen to the melody of music, and will reach into your mind, your heart, and your soul.

Kindle Cover Finding Katie1

Finding Katie: This girl grabbed me in the middle of the night and wouldn’t let go until I’d told her story 🙂

I killed someone, you see. I killed the girl, who used to be me. I’m Kate … Kate Charlesworth. I’m seventeen, and self-harming. This time I cut too deep, and I’m in hospital. I hadn’t meant for it to be so bad—it just sort of happened. I needed a lot of distraction that day. You’ve had bad days, right? Days it hurts too much to think. Days you just wanna stay in bed. Days when the world needs to go away for a while. Right? What do you do when you’ve hit rock bottom? When there’s nowhere left to turn? This one little mistake lands me back on a psych unit—the last place I wanna be. Only this time, the nurse I end up with isn’t content to stick on a band-aid and send me home. She wants me to face my demons. But to do that, I’ll have to face who I am … who I used to be … I’ll have to find Katie.

Polish Your Prose Kindle Cover

Chapters on Passive Writing, Tense, Point of View, Dialogue, and other techniques take you through the same processes an editor would go through to polish and perfect your manuscript. 3D-Book cover Elemental Earth

Elemental Earth: Book 1 in the Mysteries Series:

YA Fantasy Fiction

“You turned the god of gnomes into a garden ornament?”
Sarah looked closely, but couldn’t tell if her dad was annoyed or amused—perhaps he was both …
Whilst 15 year old Sarah may be struggling to regain her feet, after being ripped from her everyday mundane life and ending up in a whole new dimension, she still knows how to have a bit of fun along the way. The Earth Elemental isn’t the only one whose feathers she manages to ruffle, and it’s only been four days. Meanwhile, her best friend is missing, and big trouble is brewing. She soon has a lot more to worry about than what happened to her phone or iPod, or even how much of an idiot Caleb obviously thinks she is.
Elemental Earth is the first book in The Mysteries series, and is aimed at Young Adults. Even if you’ve already reached an age where the young ones might call you ‘old enough’, if you’re still young at heart then you’re bound to enjoy these books just as much as the next—err—younger adult.
Age aside, perhaps we should be more worried about what further havoc Sarah’s antics might be about to wreak on the universe as we know it? We’d probably all be sleeping a lot more soundly if she’d only stuck to applied maths and the odd pillow fight. But no, sadly the lure of the proverbial rabbit hole proved just a tad too much. And now she’s taken the plunge, there’s no turning back.

The Glade Front Cover with BRAG Medallion

The Glade: Fiction to scare your socks off!

You are being arrested for the murder of your husband…You have a secret you can’t tell…The evil is gathering.. This book has it all: murder, intrigue, the supernatural, a broken marriage, a love affair, courage against impossible odds, suspense, and high drama. The Wenstrops have it all: health, wealth and happiness. But then it all begins to fall apart. Helen is arrested for murder, yet is either unable or unwilling to give a defence. During her detention, vital evidence goes mysteriously missing and tensions are running high. Helen finds herself surrounded and yet alone: not knowing who she can trust or how she can tell her enemies from her friends. Helen has to work through her self-doubts and fears, in order to know whether her suspicions and misgivings are valid or simply products of an overwrought mind. There are those who would like to encourage her confusion, and those who would help her – but how to know one from the other? And then there are those who actively mean her harm. Meanwhile, malignant forces in the forest are gathering power, ready for a final assault. Helen finds herself in a battle of life and death, and faces having to lose everything in her attempts to thwart the evil that has insinuated itself into her very existence – but is she ready to make the ultimate sacrifice? This sensational second novel by acclaimed author Harmony Kent will have you alternately laughing, crying and gripping the edge of your seat as this roller coaster ride of a plot unfolds. It will keep you guessing through its many twists and turns, and hijack your attention right up until you turn the final page.

The Battle for Brisingamen: This book will always hold a special place as my debut novel 🙂

There is a World not too Far Away …

Beneath the north sea a land of magic lies undetected. The lives of many are drawn inexorably closer together in a race against time, as both energy companies and evil beings attempt to destroy the magic which is protecting not just this land but all worlds. The unwitting protagonists have no idea of how suddenly and irrevocably their lives are about to change.

It is a race against time to try and recover the lost necklace, Brisingamen, which holds the ancient power of the Goddess Freya, and to prevent the undersea drilling from taking place. Are Aart, Matthias, Gemma and Dirck up to the challenges they now must face?

Here there be Dragons, and all manner of Creatures …

  1. Hi Harmony. Sorry I missed your blog party. All the other guests must have left by now, the Champagne drunk and the hors d’oeuvres eaten! Your video-trailers are great and you have made them so professionally. I have already read your books THE GLADE, FINDING KATIE and POLISH YOUR PROSE. They were all great reads, and particularly The Glade sent shivers up and down my spine. Great work Harmony. Keep it up.

    • Hi James, No worries at all about being late to the party. I saved some goodies just for you! Thank you for your kind words, and I am delighted you love my books so much 🙂 It’s great to see you! I love your work too 🙂

  2. Hi Harmony, I’m sorry I missed your party. I will definitely get your Polish Your Prose book in the future. I’m a Virgo and therefore I’m a perfectionist – so I’m sure I’ll enjoy your book if it helps me to perfect my writing.

    • Thanks for stopping by, Faith. All my fave books I have in print. But I read so much, I need a HUGE house to keep all my books in print, so my Kindle is a life saver! lol. 🙂

  3. Hi Harmony!
Thanks so much for inviting us all over for the #RRBC Back to School Blog Block Party – sorry to be late but my day got a little away from me today…looks like a great crowd tho.
BTW – love the cover picture from “Slices of Soul” – looks very ZEN…

Best of luck with the book!

    • Hi Michael! Thanks for stopping by. Yep, as soon as I saw the pic for Slices, I knew it was the one for the book 🙂

  4. Harmony, I just love your blog and this Block Party rocks! It’s wonderful to get to know you a little better and see all your work. Fantastic! Slices of Life is on my must read list! Cheers. 🙂

      • Oh my gosh…Slices of Soul. Pardon my slip. I’ve been reading Slivers of Life. I just started reading Slices of Soul and had to stop by and say I absolutely love your work! Have a wonderful weekend. 🙂

    • Thanks, Michael. I have to say that I adore the old books in the background. I’m a sucker for old print books, lol. 🙂

  5. Am I too late? Ah, anyhoo – I have read several ‘how to write’ books and “Polish Your Prose” is a great addition. Indie-Authors often seem to hurry the last stage: and rush into print. They should wait and re-read their work again and again to do exactly what you say – polish. Those that don’t give us all a bad reputation. Jane Austin used to get her sister to lock her manuscripts away for a year before she read them – sound advice Miss Austin.
    2013? You’ve been prolific Harmony!

    • Thanks, Steve! I agree with everything you say, and yes, great advice from Miss Austin. Appreciate you stopping by today 🙂

  6. OOPS! I see you’re only giving out “Finding Katie.” That’s okay with me. I’ll take it.

  7. Hi Harmony. Nice presentation. Did 4WillsPub do your videos? You know we did our tour together. If I win my wish is to get The Battle for Brisingamen. lol

    • Hi Shirley. Thanks for stopping by! I did my own trailers. I do love what 4Wills Pub did with yours. Best of luck with everything! 🙂

  8. Love the trailers to supplement the blurbs. I’m glad to see someone with a diverse library too. I’ve had some run ins lately with people who believe that writers should stick to a single genre, but I believe you need to write what needs to be written…pigeon-holing be d*mned =)

  9. Wow, Harmony. I knew about Polish Your Prose – and definitely agree with the approach that “Good writing is nothing without good editing.” But I had no idea that you had written in so many genres. Impressive!

  10. Great party you are hosting today Harmony! What a fabulous selection of work you have to show us here. I love the book trailers and the music compliments each of them perfectly. I haven’t made a trailer or promo video for my books yet. I need to learn how!

    • Oh, it’s great fun making them, Lizzie! It can take time to find just the right music, or just that image, LOL, but well worth it. Thanks for stopping by:)

  11. I heard there’s a party going on over here. I love what you’ve done with the place, Harmz! Great post. Your books represent a variety of what can be done with the written word. I send best wishes to you for a successful day!

  12. Hi, Harmony – congrats on putting together this attractive display of your books and their trailers! I enjoyed watching all the trailers, and I know I’m going to enjoy reading your books that are already in my Kindle app! Has John Howell stopped by with the Margaritas yet?

  13. Hi – I’m late, but I made it! (where’s the chocolate orange brownie got to?! :-P)
Harmz – did I tell you how much I love your book trailers? They’re wonnnnderful – all of them! Hope you have tons and tons of fun with this today and you type your fingers raw replaying to everyone! 😉
Oh – and I’ll have some Prose Polish please, if I win 🙂

  14. Hey Harmony, Finding Katie is coming up really soon on my TBR list (within the next 5 books). I also have two or your other titles, Elemental Earth and Polish Your Prose. I really want The Glade and plan to get that one soon.

Love reading about all your books. Have fun today.

    • Oh wow! Thanks, Kim! I know just what you mean with that old TBR. Mine is scarier than The Glade right now! LOL 🙂

  15. Harmony, the book FINDING KATIE appears to be one that every counselor should read. The book trailer really hits to the heart of the issue.

And, I agree with John, the book trailers are spectacular. You are a very diversified writer which should propel your writing career to the stars. 🙂

    • Harmony Kent Land! Love it! 🙂 Nope, you can never ever leave once you enter here … mwa haw ha ha ha 🙂

  16. Wow, what a great variety of books and they all sound interesting. I love the idea of posting trailers with the book. Do you create your own or do you have someone who does that for you?

  17. Harmony, I forgot to add that I have all your books on my Kindle. All of them. You know how it is, whenever there is a promo, I go for the kill. They are creeping up my reading list. 🙂

  18. Hi, Harmony. I’m on a roll, and won a book yesterday. Let’s keep the love going here. As the lone participant, you’re bound to have some traffic today. Hope you generate a ton of interest in your wares.

    • Well done, Craig! Fingers crossed on your lucky streak continuing. Thanks so much for stopping by. I reckon this is the most traffic I’ve generated in one day yet! LOL. What a great idea this block party was 🙂

  19. Great post and overview of your work, Harmony! I enjoyed being a host on your blog tour earlier this year and I so appreciate all the tweeting and support you provide RRBC authors! I hadn’t seen ‘Finding Katie’ – will have to check that out. Thanks again.

    • Thanks, Lisa! It’s my great pleasure to support my fellow authors 🙂 Glad you like the overview of my work. Yep, Finding Katie is well worth checking out! 🙂

  20. Hey, Harmz. Congrats on your blog party day! I didn’t see any rules about how to enter for your prizes, so I’m assuming we just need to comment 🙂 You know I love your writing. Since I’ve already enjoyed Polish Your Prose and Elemental Earth, if I win, I’d like a copy of finding Katie. I’m too chicken to read the others 🙂 Thanks, and have a great promotion day!!

    • Too chicken, eh? LOL. In that case, if you win, you shall have Finding Katie, LOL. Good luck! Thanks for stopping by! 🙂

    • Oh thanks, Tammi! I am thrilled you loved Elemental Earth, and thanks a million for buying Polish Your Prose! The videos were fun to make 🙂

  21. What I love about your catalogue, Harmony, is the variety. You offer mystery, YA, writer self-improvement, fantasy and horror (one of my faves)! What a great variation of genre!

  22. Nice post, Harmz. I loved Finding Katie. I haven’t yet read Slices of Soul. I’d love to win a paperback of Polish Your Prose as you know my crappy eyesight gave me problems with the eBook!

  23. Great post, Harmony! I ❤️loved❤️ the Glade and look forward to reading some of the others soon too ??
