Major #edit and a new book cover! The Battle for Brisingamen

Hi everyone. I hope you’re having a good week so far. As of Monday, I started to revise the first book I ever wrote: The Battle for Brisingamen. It’s amazing how much I’ve learnt and grown in the last seven years.

The only way I can do the edit without cringing too much is if I pretend it’s someone else’s book, lols!

I’ve also revamped the book cover. This is the current one:

And here’s the revamped one:

I’ll upload this once I’ve uploaded the revision changes too. I’ve reached chapter four, and this process may take a while along with my other projects. But I’m determined!

I’d love to know what you think about the new cover, so don’t be shy and leave a reply in the comments below 🙂

    • It’s hard work, but I think I’m going to feel so relieved and rewarded once I’m done. So thrilled you love the new cover! Thanks, Joan 🙂

  1. The new cover is much darker in tone, Harmony. I like the model, the rich colors. Excellent. I also went back and revisited earlier works. It takes time, but I think it makes a lot of sense. It’s amazing how much we grow in our craft, and we want to put our best foot forward since any of our books can serve as a gateway for our readers. Happy Editing!

    • So glad you like the new cover. I agree with what you say about any of our books serving as gateways for our readers. Thanks, Diana 🙂

  2. Congratulations on having the gumption (I love that word!) to go back and re-edit your first book. If I were even ten years younger, I’d do the same thing, but at this point, I decided to look forward not back, so I can tell a couple more stories before retiring.) Good luck on the work ahead.

Now for the new cover. OMG. What a major difference. The new one is riveting, dramatic, and makes me want to read this book immediately. (Though I think I’ll wait until you’ve finished your revisions. 😀 ) Truly, Harmony, it’s perfect for any tale about Freya. Love it!

    You go, girl! 🙂 <3

    • Yay! … I love the word ‘gumption’ too! I fully understand you not going back. It’s taken me all these years to get to it.

So delighted you love the cover 😁. And, yes, definitely wait until I’ve finished the revisions, ha ha 😊 . Thanks, Marcia.

    • It is quite a daunting undertaking, lols. So happy the new cover is going down so well! Thanks, Staci 🙂

  3. The new cover has much more impact and drama than the first, which is pretty, but doesn’t say ‘here’s a book you MUST read.’
